Fishing St Pete Beach – Inshore Flats Fishing

Although it is 80 degrees as I write this, November was a cooler month than normal. Water temps went down to the mid 60’s and that sent some fish into their winter hideouts. Fishing out of St Pete Beach my charters caught red and black drum, sheepshead, flounder, trout and grouper.

Fishing the canals of St Pete Beach, Treasure Island and Madeira Beach produced great catches. With a live shrimp and an accurate caster you can some really nice fish under the docks. Not all docks are holding fish so there is some trial and error but once find its game on.

With the weather being really warm this past week things have started to change a little bit. Bait fish started showing back up on the flats and the trout are feeding on them pretty heavily. Also mixed in the trout are bluefish and Spanish mackerel.
