Treasure Island Fishing Charters

Not much fishing has been done in the last month, because I took 2 weeks vacation. The trips I have run have been good days. Inshore of Treasure Island redfish have pretty good in the early morning. Fishing the flats and oyster bars with dead bait has been the best method. The numbers of fish has slowed down a little, but they have been bigger in size. As the weather cools look for the redfish bite to get stronger.

Snook are starting to move off the beaches and make their way to the flats and back waters. I’m still not seeing the numbers of snook I’d like to see for me to want to fish for them regularly. I would much rather have my customers catch a bunch of fish then try and hunt down snook and only catch a few fish. This one pictured below we caught on a piece of lady fish while fishing a mullet school.

The Spanish mackerel have really come on strong along the Gulf Beaches. St Pete Beach, Treasure Island and Maderia Beach have fish everywhere. Along with them there are lots of big black tip sharks from 4-6 feet. Look for the Kingfish to start showing up soon.
