Trout Fishing Charter Tampa Bay – St Pete Beach Fishing Report

by Capt. Kevin Walton on September 2, 2010

We have had a great summer of Trout Fishing Charters which I find are a blast for clients but so underrated by many a fisherman and guides.

I can never get over the feeling I get when I see a family or just a bunch of Buddies on my Trout Fishing Charters having the time of their lives catching a ton of Trout and making fun memories of days better spent with family and friends. It’s a rewarding feeling knowing you have a part in making these memories for many folks that would otherwise be working or sitting around and possibly just dreaming about going fishing and just having fun.

In fact, in the state of Florida there is more money spent on fishing for the Speckled Sea Trout then any other species. That’s Right! According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Association….not only is it the states number one sought after fish species, Trout Fishing returns more on the dollar invested than any other species. Not to mention they are some of the best table fair you can catch!

At the same time…Over-all opinion on this species seems to be non responsive and almost downright taken for granted. Trout are quite abundant and usually very easy to catch most of the time, except for the bad red tide we had several year back, which resulted in a large fish kill. Since then the Trout have made quite a comeback and the Trout Fishing Charters have been really good because of the that.

Another reason they are often overlooked is because of their size. While they may be a smaller species they make for it in numbers. The average trout is between 14 to 17 inches, about 1 to 2 pounds. It’s not unusual to catch some really monster Trout though. Our charters have produced tons of Trout over 5 pounds this summer, and there were a few caught that were pushing the 10 pound range.

You can still get on the Trout and the winter is also a great time of the year to load up on them to go along with your Hotdogs at local Baseball Training Camp games.

So all you need to do is call Capt. Kevin Walton TODAY! Call 1-727-638-0975 to find out what days are open and book your Tampa Trout Fishing Charter. Let’s Hook Up and GO FISHING!!
