These first 2 weeks of May have been awesome. Fishing the flats of St Pete Beach and Madeira Beach my charters have produced nice Snook, tons of Trout, Cobia, big schools of Redfish and the Tarpon run has begun.
Large schools of Redfish have of shown up on the islands inside Johns Pass in Madeira Beach. High Tides in the morning produce the best action with cut sardines being the bait of choice. Casting Live bait in with the reds we’ve caught some bruiser snook. On the outer edges of the islands the trout have been on fire, fish ranging from 16 to 22 inches is pretty common. Also mixed in on the flats are Jacks, Bluefish and small Sharks.
Tarpon season has begun and we’ve already caught some really nice fish. The fish pictured was the first one landed this year. Most of the fish we are seeing are in the bay, but some Tarpon have shown up the beaches as well. Pinfish under a cork is the ticket to catching one these “Silver Kings”
Don’t miss out on the action, give me a call today, 727-638-0975
